Latest Car Models 2020

09/09/2021

2020 promises to be full of new cars. And there won’t be just SUVs, we show the Latest Car Models 2020:

1-FIAT 500:

This is surely one of the most anticipated models of the year 2020. The iconic Fiat 500 will return in a new generation, more modern and 100% electric. It will compete against the Mini Electric, which should result in higher prices. The current model, which dates back to 2007, will be maintained in the catalog with a light hybrid engine to reduce CO2 emissions.

2-RENAULT KANGOO:

After a full career (it was launched in 2008!), the current Renault Kangoo will take a well-deserved retirement in 2020. The new generation should be distinguished by a much more dynamic style, inspired by the new Clio 5 and Chapter 2. The manufacturer should not forget the practical and functional aspects of this model, which will remain available in family versions (ludospace) and utilitarian for professionals. Under the hood, the electric version will be kept with a higher level of autonomy, while the hybrid powertrain of the Clio 5 could make its appearance.

3-DACIA SANDERO:

Despite its seniority (8 years in 2020), the Dacia Sandero still sells well. According to CCFA figures, nearly 63,000 units were sold in France at the end of November, which puts it in 5th place of best sales, behind the Peugeot 3008. Suffice to say that the renewal of this model is very important for Dacia, which will have to keep prices low (the current one is sold from 8,290 euros) despite the stricter European regulations on CO2 emissions. According to some rumors, this Sandero 3 could be the first of the brand to receive a hybrid powertrain.

4-CITROËN C4:

After focusing on the development of its SUV range (C3 Aircross and C5 Aircross), Citroën is now active in the renewal of its sedan family. Among them, there is a compact sedan that will replace the current C4 Cactus in autumn 2020 on the European market. This new generation of C4 (the definitive name is not yet known) will be the manufacturer’s first model to offer a thermal (petrol and diesel) and electric offer. A brand spokesperson confirmed that this new C4 would be approximately 4.30 meters long, more than the current C4 Cactus (4.17 meters). It will be based on the same platform (internally called CMP) as the new generations of Peugeot 208 and 2008. The commercial launch is scheduled for the end of the year.

5-DS8 or DS9:

The luxury brand of the PSA Group unveils a new model every year. The first two were SUVs (DS7 Crossback then DS3 Crossback). The third, which will be revealed in late spring, will take the form of a large sedan that will be called DS8 or DS9. Sold in Europe but also in China, it should be powered by the 300 hp plug-in hybrid engine of the DS7 Crossback E-tense.

6-NISSAN QASHQAI:

The Nissan Qashqai was the forerunner in the compact SUV segment. But today, it faces fierce competition, including the Peugeot 3008, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Seat Ateca. Engineers and designers have a lot of work to do to give this model its rightful place, especially appreciated today for its interesting discounts.

7-AUDI A3:

Audi will lift the veil on the new A3 in early 2020. Time is running out, because the current generation, which dates back to 2012, must face much more modern competitors: 2018 for the Mercedes A-Class and 2019 for the BMW 1 Series. This new A3 should not be a revolution of the current model, Audi has made a habit of changing its models with little touches. The exterior design should be similar to that of the recent A1 and A6, while the interior should evolve mainly from a technological point of view.

8-MERCEDES EQA:

The large (4.76 meters) and very expensive (from 78,950 euros) Mercedes EQC will be joined next year by another fully electric model, called EQA. With a size equivalent to that of the new GLA (4.41 meters), this model promises a range of 400 km. It will be produced in France, in the Smart factory in Hambach (Moselle). If this model is announced for 2020, the commercial launch is expected to begin in 2021.

9-VOLKSWAGEN ID 4:

While the ID3 sedan is not even launched (May 2020), the German manufacturer will unveil the second model of its family of 100% electric “ID” models, next spring. The ID4 should incorporate the features and design of the ID3, but in an SUV format.

10-BMW 4 Series:

After the 3 Series, BMW will logically tackle the renewal of its 4 Series, which will be offered in coupe and convertible. The manufacturer gave us a taste of this new 4 Series at the last Frankfurt Motor Show with the Concept 4. We’ll see if BMW will dare to keep such a huge grille.
