Top 8 best German cars
If there is one nation that is almost unanimous in the matter of automobiles, it is Germany! Known for their seriousness, manufacturing quality, and reliability, German cars have quickly invaded roads around the world. What if we had only 7 models? Here is our suggestion:
1-Volkswagen Ladybug:
We start this ranking by what is, objectively, not a very good car! Indeed, studied before the war by a certain Mister Porsche, the Ladybug was at the end of his career (in 2003 for some countries anyway!), a noisy car, energy-consuming, delicate on wet ground, and really too slow… But it sweeps away all these defects by a major quality: its robustness that will allow it to be sold more than 21 million copies!
2-Porsche 911:
It’s the iconic sports car. Her career started in 1963 with 130 horses and she is still in the catalog today (after multiple evolutions certainly…) with a minimum of 385 horses under the hood! Easy to live, reliable and above all, high performance, the 911 proves that a sports car does not necessarily have to be unbearable on a daily basis.
3-Mercedes S-Class:
Mercedes presents it simply as the best car in the world. It must be admitted that every generation, engineers go above and beyond to present us with cutting-edge technologies. Will the future generation bring us autonomous driving?
4-BMW Neue Klasse:
It was she who saved BMW from bankruptcy and incidentally, who determined the genes of all future compact BMWs: quality, sportiness, and a tight statutory line… Although some people find it anonymous today, it is nevertheless of capital importance in the history of the brand!
5-Mercedes 300 SL:
One of the perfect cars With its «butterfly» doors, direct-injection engine and tubular chassis, it is hard to imagine that this car was designed in the rubble of a Germany destroyed by the Second World War
6-Volkswagen Golf 1 GTI:
Installing a powerful engine under the hood of a light car is compact: this is a relatively common concept today, but perfectly new in the mid-1970s! Its progenitors did not really believe it, moreover… and yet the success was immediate!
7-Audi Quattro:
In competition, and especially in the famous Group B division, the Audi Quattro won almost everything. On the road, the efficiency of the all-wheel-drive (then almost unknown on-road cars at the time) and the performance of the 5-cylinder engine made them formidable machines!
8-MERCEDES-BENZ:
It all began in 1886 with the creation of an internal combustion engine and a 1.5T truck by the founders of Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft. The firm’s principal dealership filed the patent in the name of “Mercedes” his daughter. Having exclusive sales in the United States and in some European countries he decides to build a race car, the Mercedes 35 HP, and the Mercedes Simplex. In 1909, the logo is found: three branches that recall water, earth, and air. Carl Benz, a German inventor and owner of “Benz & Cie” merged with the Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft group, which gave Mercedes-Benz AG in 1926. The machine was launched, and so was the L-Series. It was a truck primarily for the armed forces of the day. But during the war, the factories were bombed, which forced the company to turn to other products: cars and bicycles. At the end of the war, the trucks could again be manufactured and the export of the models met a great success. Today, Mercedes-Benz can be found in trucks and motorsports, especially in Formula 1. tuning, and more widely in buses, coaches, and on production vehicles.
