Note that the Hyundai Veloster was introduced in 2011 and targeted young drivers. One of the most unique and unusual features of the car has always been its asymmetrical 2+1 doors.
The lines through the hood combined with the black grille and roof lend
a muscular and sporty character. Its sporty design is another alluring factor
of the car as it had smooth sweeping lines from a hot hatch, but not the
performance to back it up.
The latest design is lighter but a much better and more fitted update. The
base of the new Hyundai Veloster is equipped with a 2.0-liter Atkinson
four-cylinder engine developing 147 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque, and is
front-wheel drive.
A more powerful version of the car the Turbo comes with a
direct-injected 1.6-liter Gamma four-cylinder that delivers 201 horsepower and
195 lb-ft of torque.
Both cars are equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox. They can also be
fitted with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
The driver's side receives a large door and two doors on the
passenger side. This is retained on the updated model. Hyundai has updated its
design, smoothing out the rough edges for a much more sporty, dynamic and
focused design.
For 2022, there is
only the N version in the Veloster lineup. Well, that's the case at the time of
this writing and who knows, maybe the Korean automaker has reintroduced other,
more affordable versions to the Veloster lineup in due course, but for now, the
little Korean sports car is only offered in its elite version, which is far
from a bad thing. Hyundai understands that affordable small SUVs are the rage
these days and that the sole purpose of a small car like the Veloster is to
deliver performance and a driving experience you can't. simply not find in an
SUV in the same price range.
Since the 2022
Hyundai Veloster N is a performance car, the little sports car from the Korean
manufacturer is powered by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that
produces 275 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. You can choose between a more
traditional 6-speed manual transmission or the highly efficient 8-speed
dual-clutch DCT automatic transmission. In either case, the power is sent to
the front wheels and I can assure you that this car does not need all-wheel
drive, because it manages the torque steer particularly well. In terms of
average consumption, Hyundai announces 10.6L/100km in the city and 8.3L/100km
on the highway for the manual transmission and 12.0L/100km in the city and
8.6L/100km on the highway with the DCT transmission. It may seem greedy for
such a small sports car, but we must not forget that the Hyundai Veloster N is
a serious performance car and for the account, its average consumption remains
quite acceptable.
The design is what
allowed the Hyundai Veloster to charm its followers from the very beginning,
it's because the Korean manufacturer has done an excellent job of developing
the model without distorting it. Moreover, the specific touches brought to the
N version make it really sporty, its color palette only includes beautiful
shades that perfectly combine the sporty elements of the car.
As for the cabin,
Hyundai has certainly bet on simplicity, more than on the outside, but that's
what brings a certain balance to the car. For the rest, it is very comfortable
and its finish is impeccable for a car in this category. The concept of the 2
doors on the passenger side makes it very practical than a sedan while
maintaining the appearance of a sports coupé on the driver's side.
Inside the cockpit
of the new Hyundai Veloster has also been updated to give it a more premium
feel. Drivers have the option of a digital cockpit. Plus, touchscreen
infotainment systems that range in sizes up to eight inches.
Android Auto, Apple CarPlay with Siri Eyes-Free integration and Blue Link connected car integration also come with the car. Colored accents, matching the exterior, have been added throughout the interior to give it a more personal feel.
It's quite simple
here, because what allows the small sports car from the Korean manufacturer to
stand out from the competition is as much its design as its performance and
features. It is different on every level and it has found a rather comfortable
niche in the market.
