Smart is the acronym for Swatch Mercedes ART. The brand was born at the end of the 1990s on the initiative of Nicolas Hayek, Managing Director of Swatch, who set up a collaboration with Mercedes by selling it 51% of the shares of the new company. Let's take a look at Smart Car Price for 2022.
Smart has finally
revealed the name of its future zero-emission SUV. It will be Smart, the first
vehicle in its new range of 100% electric vehicles.
Like the vast
majority of car manufacturers, Smart is switching to 100% electric vehicles,
via its new range. And the first model is an SUV, far from the usual universe
of the brand's micro-city cars.
While some brands
are changing their identity and logo to symbolize their transition to the
electric car, considered by many to be the future of the automobile, Smart has
decided to integrate a in the name of all its next cars. 100% electric range.
The Electric Smart
is an electric car made in France, in Hambach. The only micro-city car, it has
been on the market since 2009 and in its third generation since spring 2017,
then as a restyled EQ Fortwo model in 2020.
On a domestic
outlet, the charging time for a latest electric Smart ForTwo lasts around 6
hours and can be reduced to 3.5 hours when using a wallbox. Equipped as
standard with a 4.6 kW on-board charger, the Smart FortTwo EQ also offers an
optional 22 kW charger. Operating in alternating current, it limits the
charging time to approximately one hour. On the connectivity side, note that
the manufacturer offers a mobile application allowing remote viewing of the
car's parameters, programming of the charge or activation of pre-air
conditioning.
Now labeled EQ,
the electric Smart Forfour combines a 60-kW electric motor with a small battery
allowing approximately 130 km of range on a single charge. With a size of 3.49
meters, the Forfour falls into the category of small city cars. Developed by
Daimler (Mercedes-Benz) and Renault, it is therefore one of the most compact
electric cars on the market.
Apart from a few
specific aesthetic details, the electric Smart Forfour is in all respects
similar to the classic Smart Forfour launched since 2014. The only notable
difference is that the grille is dressed in body color. It is also
distinguished by instrumentation and a specific pack, which uses the electric
green specific to the brand's zero-emission models.
On a household
socket, the electric Forfour recharges in 6 hours to 80% and in 3h30 using a
wall box (4.6 kW of power). As an option, the manufacturer also offers a 22-kW
charger. Allowing the charging time to be reduced to approximately one hour.
SEVEN was
developed by FEV engineering offices.2022 Smart Seven is 2.5 m long, 1.75 m
wide and 1.60 m high. These dimensions are therefore well inspired by the first
SMART ForTwo and the Bolloré BlueCar.
Like the latter,
the SVEN is 100% electric. It has a 20-kWh battery which powers a 33-horsepower
electric motor, placed on the rear axle. With its mass of 850 kg, the equipment
manufacturer tells us that it is aiming for a range of 140 km and a top speed
of 120 km/h.
Its interior seems
much better designed than that of the two illustrious ancestors since FEV announces
a 2+1 approval. The 3 seats are modular and can be folded, freeing up a large
storage space of up to 580 litres.
Certainly, the
price varies according to the line for which you opt. In the “passion” line,
the recommended price including VAT of the smart EQ fortwo is $14,650, the
price of the smart EQ cabrio is $18,900.
If you opt for the
premium line, its rare elegance and its 16-inch light alloy rims, the
recommended price including VAT of the smart EQ fortwo is then $23,900, that of
the smart EQ fortwo cabrio $28,100.
