A van at Opel to replace the Vivaro Combi but also the Zafira Tourer minivan. A double hit named Zafira Life. From five to nine seats, it is available in several interior layout and length configurations.
The Opel minivan is a tad more visible than its production
version. Note its dark blue bodywork, with white and fluorescent yellow
markings. With this, the stylists found it necessary to add the necessary
decals, as well as a bespoke roof spoiler, front bull bars and prominent rocker
panels.
The body is lowered via an air suspension system. The
four-piston caliper brakes and 380 mm discs at the front are largely visible
thanks to the 20-inch BBS light alloy wheels shod in Michelin Cup 2 tires.
The spectacular appearance of this
Opel Zafira Life is completed by the vocal chants that come out of the
OPC-design exhaust of the "O-Team Zafira Life". The designers have
grafted the vocal cords of a V8 on it by mounting a sound module that gives
this illusion. Because despite its spooky melody, under the hood hides a
powerful engine. 2-litre diesel that delivers 177 thoroughbreds and 400 Nm of
torque. O-Team Zafira Life, it rolls! Admittedly, this "O-Team Zafira
Life" is a concept car, but all its technical modifications have been
approved by the inspection body: the TUV. It is therefore quite possible that
we will see versions of the “O-Team” rolling on German roads in the near
future.
The Zafira Life
“S”. It is obviously the smallest of the 3 thieves. It is content with a size
of 4.60 meters long. But in this contained size, it can accommodate up to nine
occupants. An unrivaled proposal in the category, as is the opening of the two
electric sliding doors which open with a simple sweep of the foot. Opel
emphasizes its turning radius of just 11.30 meters.
The Zafira Life
“M” (just like the Zafira Life “L”) is built on a wheelbase of 3.28 m, which is
35 cm longer than the Zafira Life S. It thus offers more legroom for rear passengers.
It is placed in the category of mid-size minivans in the D segment. Compared to
the competition, the Opel also has a larger tailgate and easier access for
loading, as well as a payload exceeding one ton.
The Zafira Life
“L”, which offers a loading volume reaching some 4,500 litres, is an offer that
will enter the segment of the largest minivans. If the Zafira Life M is
"content" with a length of 4.95 meters, this "L" version
reaches 5.30 meters.
As you will have
understood, this Opel Zafira Life is thus a real transporter today. But not
just any. Since it is also available on request with independent, heated
leather seats. The driver can even enjoy the massage function, while in the
back the 4 passengers can use tablets to put down their laptop and even connect
via their Smartphone to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
If the road
conditions get complicated, the Opel Zafira Life offers the IntelliGrip
traction control system. This system plays on the ESP to guarantee maximum grip
on the front wheels even on snow or sand. A 4x4 version will also be available
when orders open. The all-wheel-drive system is supplied by 4x4 specialist
Dangel.
Strictly identical
to the other electric models in the PSA range, the Opel Zafira-e Life has an
electric motor delivering up to 100 kW of power, or 136 horsepower. Delivering
up to 260 Nm of torque, it promises a top speed of up to 130 km/h.
In order to best
adapt to customer needs, the electric Zafira-e Life is available in two battery
configurations. Totaling 50 kWh of capacity, including 46 useful, the first
allows up to 230 km of autonomy in the WLPT cycle. Climbing to 75 kWh, the
second displays up to 330 km on a single charge.
The electric
Zafira Life can be recharged using a simple household socket or via a
"wall-box" up to 7.4 kW (11 kW optional).
Equipped with a Combo connector, the electric Zafira Life
accepts fast charging and tolerates up to 100 kW of power. On the 50 kWh
pack, count 30 minutes for a recharge from 0 to 80% (45 minutes on the 75 kWh
pack).
