In 2019, Hyundai replaced the Santa Fe XL with a brand newcomer the “Palisade”. Hyundai's first 8-passenger sport utility vehicle, it has looks, strength under the hood and a level of quality that makes the competition blush. The Hyundai Palisade wins stars for looks, driving pleasure and safety.
The Hyundai
Palisade gets some minor upgrades for 2022 including trim packages and color
combinations, but no major changes on the horizon. At the same time, the
Palisade has only been on the market for 2 years and its current formula is
already very popular. Let's just say that the SUV from the Korean manufacturer
is ideal for anyone who doesn't necessarily want a minivan and who likes the
format of a sport utility. The Palisade is spacious and very comfortable.
Besides, I think we can say that the Korean manufacturer has hit a home run
with the Calligraphy version, whose finish and interior design are comparable
to that of the prestige model.
As for the
mechanical aspect of the 2022 Hyundai Palisade, it offers only one engine and
it is a 3.8-liter V6 that has a power of 291 hp. Add 262 lb-ft of torque. The
latter is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and the standard
multi-mode system all-wheel drive. This combination is simple and does not
offer exceptional capabilities in terms of fuel consumption or towing, but it
is reliable and versatile and some people do not ask for more. As for
consumption, we are talking about an average consumption of 12.3L/100km in the
city and 9.6L/100km on the highway.
Although it is not
part of a luxury vehicle line, the Hyundai Palisade has been designed with a
certain finesse and remarkable elegance. It's a vehicle that has a lot of
presence on the road and definitely exudes something luxurious, right from its
entry-level version. It must be said that the Korean manufacturer has put a lot
of work into the grille and the front face to give it a unique and modern
character.
The SUV from the
Korean manufacturer offers a state-of-the-art cabin with a well-designed
design. Once again, you feel like you're behind the wheel of a luxury vehicle,
and that's even truer when you opt for the Calligraphy version. It is certain that the Palisade does not offer the same
quality and above all the same variety of materials as a Rolls-Royce Cullinan
and a Bentley Bentayga, but for many reasons, the design of this version is
comparable to that of these large luxury SUVs, especially in the eyes of those
who don't really know anything about vehicles. In short, if you want to
treat yourself and benefit from a great luxury vehicle at a low price, the
Hyundai Palisade is undoubtedly one of the best options currently available on
the market.
For 2022, the
Hyundai Palisade range is divided into 4 versions starting with the Essential
model which, as its name suggests, offers the essentials. However, the
definition of what is essential for Hyundai is certainly different from that of
other manufacturers since you are offered an 8-inch touch screen, heated front
seats and steering wheel as well as standard all-wheel drive with this version
of the entry level.
In short, we can
imagine that a perfectly equipped SUV of this size costs a fortune, but this is
not the case since the base price of the Hyundai Palisade is only $41,399,
which makes it one of the most affordable vehicles in its segment. Next comes
the Preferred version with a base price of $46,399 and the latter offers the
level of equipment that should appeal to the greatest number of people. Hyundai
then offers the Luxury version starting at $50,599 and finally the Calligraphy
version starting at $54,899. To be honest with you, I even wonder why Hyundai
does not eliminate the Luxury version since the Calligraphy model is more
luxurious. A sport version with a darker finish could very well replace it.
Well, that's my opinion.
The 2022 Hyundai
Palisade is a vehicle that doesn't really have any specific talent, but is capable
of accommodating just about anyone in any situation. In
short, all that to say that it may not go to extremes, but you will hardly find
a vehicle that offers better value of money in this category.
The 2022 Hyundai
Palisade is an excellent starting point if your needs do not require excessive
towing capacity and you especially need space for your family. Indeed, the
Calligraphy version offers a seriously plush and luxurious finish. If you don't
care about the prestige of the logo on the front and are more interested in the
overall experience, you'll get more for your money with the Hyundai Palisade
than anywhere else.
