Hot hatches

Honda Civic

As expected, Honda unveiled its eleventh generation Civic in the United States. The Japanese manufacturer is showing the notchback version, a trunk sedan intended primarily for the North American market. Honda seems here to want to address a wider clientele. The sedan grows by 3.5 cm compared to the previous generation, and is now 4.67 m long. Its bonnet appears stretched thanks to the movement of the windshield pillars rearwards by almost 5 cm, while the mirrors are placed on the doors to improve visibility.

Kia Forte

For 2022, the Forte (sedan) and the Forte5 (5-door) do not change their skeleton, the last generation introduced in 2019 which only needs a light brush to stay in the game. The 2022 Kia Forte still offers the same 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque in the majority of its versions. As for them, the others benefit from a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine that delivers 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque.

Hyundai Elantra

The Hyundai Elantra model is a road sedan type car designed in 1990 by the South Korean manufacturer. The model was a great success and underwent several successive facelifts. The fifth generation of the Hyundai Elantra is now marketed internationally. Unsurprisingly, the new Elantra continues on its way with its usual mechanics, namely a naturally aspirated 4-cylinder Atkinson cycle engine with 2.0-liter displacement that develops 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of maximum torque. As is already the case on board the outgoing Elantra, an IVT (for Intelligent Variable Transmission) box takes care of sending everything to the front drive wheels.

Volkswagen Golf GTI

If Volkswagen doesn't bring back the regular Golf for 2022, the GTI and R are still in the catalog, much to the delight of enthusiasts. At the heart of the Golf GTI is the same powertrain as the previous-generation model, a turbocharged 2-liter four-cylinder that now develops 241 horsepower.

Audi A4 Allroad

The German automaker has unveiled its new Audi A4. A model that comes in several versions, including the Allroad quattro. Like the A6 Allroad, this A4 is also quite simply irresistible, since it adopts exactly the same ingredients, with in particular a raised ground clearance of 35 mm and all the fittings usually attributed to real 4×4.

Volvo V60

In addition to a few aesthetic changes to the grille and rear bumper, the V60 adopts the new infotainment system integrating Google technologies. The V60 is Volvo's midsize 5-door, 5-seat station wagon. It is based on Volvo's modular SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) platform, which all models in the 90 and 60 range are based on.

Volvo V60 Cross Country

In addition to the S60 sedan, Volvo also includes the V60 in its range, a station wagon available in several versions. The more adventurous Cross Country version, as well as the plug-in hybrid models, allow you to enjoy an extended range. The basic models receive the same motorization as the S60 as well as a traction train.

Compact crossovers

Honda CR-V

The next-generation Honda CR-V is on the way, and these new spy shots give us our first look at the next family SUV. It is expected to go on sale towards the end of 2022. The current Honda CR-V is already quite a bold car and the latest version seems to have an even more distinctive design. Its face in particular is very striking, thanks to the slim headlights and the large hexagonal grille. The hood also looks much lower and flatter than current CR-Vs.

Mazda CX-5

The new Mazda CX-5 2022 now adopts, like other models in the range, the next-generation Skyactiv architecture. The 2022 Mazda CX-5 was already well equipped with its i-Activsense. The 2022 vintage adds Cruise & Traffic Support (CTS), a brand new traffic assistance system that helps reduce driver fatigue by facilitating the control of the accelerator and brake pedals, but also steering operations. when the vehicle is stuck in traffic.

 Nissan Rogue

The last few years have not been particularly easy for car manufacturers and especially for Nissan, which has had to face one of the biggest financial crises in its history. Named Rogue in America, the new generation is still called X-Trail for the Japanese and European markets. However, this time the aesthetic differences between the two versions are almost non-existent, except under the hood. It is only offered in a thermal version with a 4-cylinder engine of 181 horsepower and 245 Nm of torque.
