What are the best electric cars and SUV

2022 Tesla Model Y

Like many manufacturers, Tesla continually evolves its models over time. More than a dozen new Model Y have been spotted at the big factory in Texas.

Several modifications will take place at the level of the seats of the Model Y. A new foam will garnish the front seats and the rear seat. The mechanics will also change since Tesla has a new supplier.

 2022 Kia Niro EV

Introduced on the market in 2016, the Kia Niro quickly met with success. In particular in its 100% electric version e-Niro which, it must be noted, often comes up in discussions as one of the most homogeneous and most sober electric cars. The Kia Niro will also be available in an EV version (which replaces the e-Niro). Again, the formula should not be new since the crossover is based on an evolution of the current platform and not on the latest e-GMP unit. Remember that the previous generation had 136 hp or 204 hp engines, and a maximum range of 455 km.

 2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5

The brand's third 100% electric car after the Ioniq and Kona, the Ioniq 5 is a compact crossover built on an unprecedented platform. From the Hyundai 45 concept revealed in 2019, it promises 450 kilometers of autonomy. With its neo-retro look, the Korean model sports compact SUV dimensions. Larger than the electric Kona, it is 4.65 m long, 1.89 m wide and 1.60 m high. Impressive, its wheelbase is 3 meters.

 2022 Hyundai Kona Electric

First electric SUV from the Korean brand, the electric Hyundai Kona offers 484 kilometers of autonomy according to the WLTP cycle. Classified in the compact SUV category, this 5-seater model extends over 4.2 m in length, 1.57 m in height and 1.80 m in width. Equipped with a double bottom for storing charging cables, its boot has a loading volume of 332 liters. Its capacity climbs to 1114 liters once the rear seat is folded down.

2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge

There's something new for the XC40. Volvo's compact SUV is entitled to a restyling after four years of existence, but the changes are minimal. It is the front end that benefits from the biggest changes with more streamlined lights in order to adopt the style of the brand's new models. There are also more pronounced front bumpers around the fog lamps. These take the form of fires. This results in a more dynamic look.

2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E

Ford announces to offer some updates to the Mustang Mach-E. The electric SUV marketed in 2020 thus sees the autonomy of a certain version evolve, and the capacity of its batteries increase. Ford indicates that the Mustang Mach-E sees the capacity of its batteries increased. The standard version therefore sees its battery reach 70 kWh of usable energy, while the model with a large battery can now use 91 kWh of energy. It is not known at the moment if these updates to the Mustang Mach-E will change the prices which, as a reminder, start at €48,990 without the ecological bonus.

 2022 Audi e-tron

As part of a mid-career facelift expected in mid-2022, Audi plans to update its e-tron and e-tron Sportback electric SUVs. On the program: increased autonomy and improved electronics. In particular, Audi intends to optimize the efficiency of its engines. The battery capacity could also be revised upwards. All the improvements made will increase the range of the German SUV to more than 600 kilometers. For comparison, the current version of the e-tron allows up to 446 km in the WLTP cycle with a 95-kWh battery.

2022 Mazda MX-30

An electric vehicle offering – only – 160 km of autonomy. Even before it hits dealerships next month, Mazda's MX-30 is already causing a few shrugs. Who could be satisfied with a vehicle with people with such a limited range? More than you think, Mazda believes, but the idea will be difficult to justify. Its e-Skyactiv technology offers instant throttle response, which delivers 143 hp and 200 lb-ft of torque. Whether to initiate a turn or for a straight-line trip, the responsiveness of the MX-30 2022 is matched only by its maneuverability. Discover this extraordinary model thanks to Solution Mazda.
