Best Plug in Hybrid Car

01-  Mercedes C 300 e

Appeared a few months ago in its classic thermal versions, the new C-Class is now available as a rechargeable hybrid. While a diesel hybrid version is also on the program, only the petrol version is currently offered in the manufacturer's catalog.

02 - Skoda Octavia iV

Equipped with the most powerful engine in the range, the plug-in hybrid version of the new Octavia is much more expensive than the entry-level petrol and diesel versions.

Inheriting the mechanics of the new Golf GTE, the Skoda Octavia plug-in hybrid is available in two configurations. In 204 horsepower, the first combines a 156 horsepower (115 kW) 1.4 TSI petrol engine with a 102 horsepower (75 kW) electric motor.

03 - Renault Captur E-Tech PHEV

Renault has announced fourteen new electrified vehicles by 2025. Some will be plug-in hybrids, others 100% electric but also simple hybrids.

Speaking of sport, this simple hybrid version can also receive an RS Line finish which provides a sporty look.

04 - BMW X5 xDrive45e

BMW's first plug-in hybrid model, the BMW X5 xDrive445e is a plug-in hybrid SUV based on the BMW X5.

The BMW X5 plug-in hybrid is considered one of the most comfortable SUVs on the market. Especially since the xDrive45e version is the only one in the range to benefit from air suspension as standard, optional on the other engines. The unevenness of the road appears all the more distant as the soundproofing proves to be of very high quality.

05 - BMW 545e

In addition to the 530e and 530e xDrive, BMW is presenting a new plug-in hybrid version of its 5 Series. Called the 545e xDrive, the German sedan is placed at the top of the PHEV range. As its name suggests, it is only available with all-wheel drive.

This BMW 545e xDrive is capable of reaching a top speed of 140 km/h in electric mode, while the maximum speed is capped at 250 km/h. BMW announces a zero-emission range of between 54 and 57 kilometers.

06 - Mercedes E 300 e and E 300 de

Launched at the end of 2016 only in E 350 e petrol, the Mercedes E-Class plug-in hybrid has also been available in diesel since 2019 as well as in two body styles, with a battery providing more than 50 km of electric range.

Based on the same platform as the traditional version of the E-Class, the plug-in hybrid version originally combined a 1,991 cc four-cylinder petrol engine with 155 kW of power and 350 Nm of torque with a 60 kW and 360 Nm electric motor.

 07 - BMW 330e

Over the years and generations, the 3 Series has grown along with the scope of its ever-expanding range. Since the previous generation, BMW has marketed a 330e version, the "e" here which points directly to the electrification of the German sedan.

BMW is adapting plug-in hybrid technology to the new generation of the 3 Series, and taking the opportunity to optimize the performance of its 330e, which is becoming more and more consistent. This electrified version of the 3 Series does have this hatch visible on the left wing, a sign that it is possible to connect the car from this integrated socket.

08 - Volvo XC60 Recharge

Volvo Cars is making various improvements to its iconic mid-size SUV, the XC60. Volvo's bestseller becomes more sophisticated and capable than ever with the integration of a new Android-based infotainment system.

Consumers currently have the choice of a plug-in hybrid version with more than 400 horsepower and an electric range of 31 kilometers. To avoid burning a single drop of gasoline at the wheel of a Volvo.

 09 - Hyundai Ioniq Plug-in

The Ioniq is exclusive to Hyundai with these three versions of the same more or less “green” car. Of the all-electric and simple hybrid models already tried here, the temptation was strong to add to the second a battery pack and a more powerful electric motor to get closer, with this rechargeable evolution, to the first city. The advanced autonomy for the batteries, greater than 60 km, is there and the anxiety of the breakdown evacuated on long journeys with the combustion engine.

10 - Ford Kuga PHEV

The Ford Kuga plug-in hybrid or PHEV combines two energy sources: a thermal combustion engine and an electric motor powered by a rechargeable battery Depending on the driving mode, you can either drive on one of the two engines or use both simultaneously. The ride is very pleasant. The sound comfort is prodigious. It is very difficult to return to diesel after having tasted it.
