2022 is going to be a fabulous year for the electric car sector: we have put together a list of the most anticipated models for you over the coming months.
We knew that the Audi A6 e-tron concept was close to a future production version. The proof since the technical specifications have leaked in China. This 100% electric sedan will be marketed in the wake of the Q6 e-tron at the end of 2023. Not cheap, but quite possibly the best electric car on sale today.
With its new electric model,
the Munich manufacturer hopes to have found the right answer to the Californian
group, the world number one in electrics.
With a maximum output of 544 hp (400 kW), the BMW i4 promises fascinating dynamics. The BMW i4 will be able to reach 100 km/h in just four seconds, demonstrating exemplary performance. It is the model-specific damping technology that provides an engaging and controlled driving experience without training slippage or course corrections when accelerating.
A true old-fashioned 4x4 with
100% electric motorization, the Bollinger is dressed as standard, confirming
its Land Rover Defender look.
Bollinger however preserves the very rustic appearance at a length of 4.36m, close to the first generation Land Rover Defender. Off-road capabilities are impressive, with a 50° angle of attack and 43° departure angle. For the moment, only the 5-door body appears, while a shorter 3-door was envisaged.
Coming from the Pan Asia
Technical Automotive Center (General Motors and the giant SAIC Motor), the
Buick Electra electric concept aims to define the aesthetic and technological
orientation of the group. On the program: an SUV with muscular features with a
huge curved screen.
Buick Electra, from the name of the concept, inevitably recalls the eponymous automobile built between 1959 and 1990. With the difference that their design and their engine are opposed on all levels. Electra displays muscular features, but very tapered lines, characterized by a visibly low headroom and a long bonnet. But beware: the photos of a concept tend to exaggerate the curves and accentuate the sporty side of the vehicle.
With the LYRIQ, its first 100%
electric vehicle, Cadillac has every intention of regaining its prestige of the
past.
Unveiled to media around the world via a virtual presentation attended by The Car Guide, the LYRIQ marks the start of a new chapter at Cadillac.
To mark this turning point in the history of this once very prestigious company, more than a hundred years old, today we are presented with a utility-looking vehicle equipped with an entirely electric motor.
Chevrolet
created quite a surprise today by announcing the arrival next year of electric
versions of the Chevrolet Equinox and Chevrolet Blazer SUVs.
The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox EV and 2023 Chevrolet Blazer EV join the all-new Chevrolet Silverado EV unveiled today. Chevrolet unveiled the two models after showing off the electric version of its popular pickup truck. Together, Chevrolet's two electric SUVs should generate a lot of ink over the coming months, as they represent two of GM's most important models in their gasoline versions.
On the occasion of CES in Las
Vegas, Stellantis is active in the electric segment and unveils the Chrysler
Airflow.
The Chrysler Airflow is one of the first cars of the American brand, created in 1925. A sedan all in curves which took into account the aerodynamic constraints in its style. To mark the spirits and make a new start in its history, the brand is bringing the Airflow back to life, now with an electric motor.
Presenting a prototype is one
thing, moving to the industrialization phase is another. The new car brands to
break their teeth on the production of the promised vehicles are numerous to
break their teeth. Yet Faraday Future persists in believing it for 2022, when
we thought it was dying.
Faraday Future's FF91 was presented with great
fanfare at CES Las Vegas in 2017, announced as being able to dethrone Tesla and
its Model S at the time. Since then, the brand has found itself entangled in
financial difficulties.
First presented in concept form
at CES 2020, the electric SUV from Henrik Fisker's new company was unveiled in
production version Tuesday evening on the Manhattan Beach pier.
The place had been specially chosen: the Ocean takes its name from the Pacific Ocean and its logo is reminiscent of Californian sunsets. A more official presentation took place today at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
It's no surprise that consumers
are fond of SUVs. Also, the mass adoption of electric vehicles by consumers
depends on the availability of models that people buy. Combine these two
statements and you understand that it is high time for car manufacturers to
arrive with all types of electric SUVs. However, Ford has confirmed that the
electric version of the popular Explorer midsize SUV will arrive in 2023.
With such an announcement, Ford is taking the
lead in the midsize SUV category. Indeed, for the moment, no other manufacturer
has announced that an electric version of an existing three-row midsize SUV
will be offered in the coming years.
