Belgian cars

Belgian automobile production was at its peak in the 1920-1930s, where there were several dozen factories and half of Europe rode on Belgian cars. But war and economic problems erased the Belgian memory marks. Today, there are only a few manufacturers in Belgium, and we mainly work with hand-assembled supercars. There are few known Belgian brands in the USA. Imperia is a popular Belgian car brand in Belgium.

In 1961, the company APAL (Application Polyester Armé de Liége) was founded. It produced sports cars with a plastic body. In 1998, the company went bankrupt: and the company was bought by the Germans. Today, APAL produces kit cars in Germany.

The firm of the Brossel brothers in Brussels has been manufacturing trucks since the early 1920s, but the armed forces of Belgium and Germany did not receive these trucks until 1937. The heavy artillery tractor TAL 4 x 4 with all driving wheels has become the most famous product of the brand Brossel. The prototype was built in 1935 and produced in 1937-39. In total, 74 TAL tractors were produced. In the 40-50-s, Brossel participated in the development and production of the standard truck for the Belgian army FN-Brossel-Miesse 4 x 4.

Since 1992, Gillet has created magnificent supercars. The assembly is handmade. The design of each model is unique. The founder of the company Tony Gillet first engaged in the importation of sports cars from other companies in Belgium. And later, he decided to make his cars.

Imperia

From 1906 to 1948, Imperia was the main car company in Belgium. The latest model produced by this brand has become Imperia TA-8 is a 2-door roadster body. In 1948-49, 1,000 of these vehicles were produced and the Standard and Adler car assembly company was moved. In 1957, the company finally went bankrupt.

From 1902 to 1938, Minerva was a sign of quality and in competition with Rolls-Royce and the other manufacturers of luxury cars. During the war, the company was refocused on army equipment, and then, until 1956, it produced SUVs under license from Land Rover.

Since 1994, Idran company has been offering Edran Spyder MK I sports cars on Porsche bodies. In 2006, the range of the brand was reconstituted with a sports car Edran Enigma.
